Chico Christian School Retrofitting an Older Structure

The Details

Retrofitting existing play equipment can be an exciting and successful option for schools on a budget. Chico Christian School in Chico, California had a playstructure that was still in great shape but needed updating since it was installed in 2002. Principal Bev Landers contacted Jon Bawden at Ross Recreation Equipment for a solution.

Jon, together with the design team at Landscape Structures, provided the school with a plan that would add new and exciting components, remove a few outdated components and stay within the school’s budget.

Community volunteers, including Jon Bawden and Ross Recreation’s factory certified installer, installed the new structure over a weekend. The playground looks brand new and the school is very pleased with the results.
