Hal Brown Park Innovative “Green” Design

The Details

The November 2011 Green Issue of Landscape Architect and Specifier News featured the newly renovated Hal Brown Park, an important destination park in Marin County, California, that features extensive wetlands and marshland adjacent to Corte Madera Creek.

The design firm Moore Iacofano Goltsman (MIG) developed designs after meeting with residents, local environmental groups, and nearby schools to assess community needs and sustainability goals. MIG worked with Ewing Philbin at Ross Recreation to select the play equipment and site furniture.

An “active” component of the park includes a children’s playground, shade structures, adult park seating, and new group picnic areas.
