Mahany Park A Treehouse for All Children
The Details
Mahany Park is the City of Roseville’s largest park. It is home to the Roseville Sports Center and Aquatics Complex, which offers community aquatic facilities, six ball fields, picnic areas, and a community library. The City wanted a truly unique new playground that reflected its pioneer heritage, and also offered a fully inclusive play environment for children of all abilities.
Partnering with Shane’s Inspiration, the City of Roseville created Project Play, a non-profit that raises money to provide communities fully-inclusive playgrounds. Mahany Park’s new playground features a fully-accessible tree fort, complete with a GRFC log slide, Custom Tent Styled roofs, and assorted GFRC rocks and climbers. This playstructure also incorporates over 60 feet of ramps that allows every child to get to the elevated platforms of the new structure.
Chris Tait of Ross Recreation worked closely with Kevin Learney at Land Architecture, Inc., to provide the community with a playground that was highly personalized, unique, and truly inclusive for children of all abilities.
