LEO’s Haven, Chanticleer Park

LEO’s Haven was an idea spurred on by Patricia Potts, who wanted to create a local play space where her son Oliver could play alongside his sisters and friends. Oliver uses a wheelchair and after visiting another inclusive playground in a neighboring county, this family brought their dream of an inclusive playground for kids of all abilities home to their community. Collaborating with Inclusion Matters by Shane’s Inspiration, community members and the county, LEO’s Haven opened in 2020 as the first fully inclusive playground in Santa Cruz County.
