Originally constructed of wood in 2002, the old playground structure was slowly consumed by dry rot. As the most beloved park in the City of Napa, there was a lot of sentimental emotion coming from the community concerning its replacement and at the same time, the city did not want a replacement made from wood. We worked with the community and brought in the custom design team at Landscape Structures who listened to all of the various stakeholders and ultimately created a design that is a true reimagining of what this space could be. Like the original, this park was constructed by dozens of volunteers from the community as a volunteer build and will remain an iconic community space for decades to come.
